| Darkness seems to be unavoidable in our life.
Our days are filled with obstacles and strife.
No matter the depth of the casting shadow,
There is always a light that appears to glow.
With our path much like a dreary tunnel,
Squeezing our daily tasks through a funnel.
We forget about the light coming ahead,
Grossly blanking out the words God said.
He is the Light unto my path every day.
This is a word the Lord loves to convey.
He'll never fail and forever be at your side;
He'll take your hand and always be your guide.
No matter how long or dark times get to be,
Always keep alert for Him, soon you'll be free.
You are never beyond the reach of His grace,
And He longs for you and Him to embrace.

| Christ Jesus, You are my King, You are my friend
You love me at a level that's hard to comprehend
When I bend, ready to break, You are there
Lord Jesus, You are worthy, worthy of all praise
The passion within is from You, I'm set ablaze
I am amazed, all my days are in Your hands
My Jesus, Savior of my soul, search my spirit
Direct my ways, Your voice, let me hear it
My path, clear it, show me the way to glory
Jesus, my love for You is simple, perhaps plain
On a cross, for me, for my sins, You were slain
It seems insane, Your pain, it was for me
You Jesus, You make me alive, You are strong
Because of You, within my heart I sing a new song
To You I belong, My Lord, My King, My everything

| At times I reach the end of my rope
Even when it seems impossible to cope
I won't loose heart, I'll hold onto hope
Though my body is dying away
And giving in to an earthly decay
There still is hope to be found today
See daily my spirit is being renewed
To His Word I will keep my heart glued
And I'll feast on this good spiritual food
Every new day I will seek the Lord
He will renew me and I will be restored
In Him, I have my everlasting reward

| A nature that all of us possess
Contrary to the Spirit’s success,
Desiring to demolish and devour,
Trying to destroy the Spirit’s power.
Steer from this nature’s sinful acts;
Pursue the Spirit, follow its tracks.
Seek and find love, joy, and peace.
Allow them to grow and increase.
Patience, kindness--let them come.
Good and faithful you will become.
Permit gentleness to fill your heart,
Self-control is next to impart.
Let the old nature be crucified,
Do away with it and cast it aside.
Keep in tune with the Spirit--
God’s voice, can you hear it.

| As I follow the ways of the Lord
He is pleased; my spirit is restored
Peace consumes my very soul
To bring rest, making me whole
If my ways and the Lord's align
Peace will be what comes to shine
Fresh Jesus light on the scene
Even my enemies will be serene
So Lord, I submit, align my ways
Help me walk in You all my days
So the abounding force is peace
And that Your love would increase
